What if I don’t have a partner?
That is not a problem. Your instructor will serve as your partner on your lessons. You wil also meet many other dancers at our parties and at our group classes to practice with.

What clothes do I wear?
You should dress comfortably in clothes that allow freedom of movement. Formal attire is only for special occasions. Our Friday night parties are usually casual. You should also wear comfortable shoes, but not sneakers. (Tip: Leather soles work better than rubber or non-skid soles for dancing.)

I have two left feet! Isn’t it hard to learn to dance?
Not really. Dancing is a lot like walking in a specific pattern and rhythm. If you can walk forward, backward, and step to the side, you can dance! Our instructors will make it easy to learn and fun to do!

But I have no rhythm…
Part of learning to dance is learning how to find the beat in the music. Most people have natural rhythm; however, many have not been taught how to match the rhythm to the music. At Dance Dimensions your instructor will teach you how to listen for the beat and how to stay on time with it.

What music can I dance to?
We dance to everything from Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin to Chris Isaak and Sting; Sarah Brightman to Pink; Classical, Modern, Rock, Latin, Hip Hop and more.

Where can I go dancing?
There are a lot of places in town to go dancing. Many clubs such as The Palace or Fairbanks have dance floors. We are members and supporters of USA Dance (formerly the United States Amateur Ballroom Dancers Association, USABDA), and the Knoxville chapter holds a dance each month. Of course, we have a party every Friday from 9 to 11 p.m.

How long does it take to learn?
That depends upon how often your take your lessons and how good you want to be. On the average, it takes 2-3 months and 10-15 private lessons for someone to become comfortable dancing on a social level.

How much does it cost?
We offer a $15 introductory private lesson so that you may check us out and see if this is what you are looking for. There are NO BIG, expensive contracts and NO memberships. (Prices are for singles or couples.)

How do I get started?

How do I get to Dance Dimensions?
Dance Dimensions is located at the corner of Kingston Pike and Gallaher View Road in the Kingston Four Plaza (across from Rodgers Cadillac). From I-40, get off at Exit 379 “Gallaher View Road”. Turn South onto Gallaher View Road towards Kingston Pike (if you are coming from the west, Gallaher View Road is the 3rd traffic light after exiting from I-40). At Kingston Pike, turn Left onto Kingston Pike and then immediately turn Left again into the Kingston Four Plaza. Bear to the right and Dance Dimensions is on the back side, lower level.
