Congratulations to our Champion Dancers! News from the 2007 Cincinnati Dancesport Festival!! Lisa Smith took FIRST PLACE in the Senior Pro/Am Rhythm Scholarship. She and her instructor J.W. Becker beat a large field of competitors for this win. Lisa also took many other firsts and seconds over the weekend. Terry Williams competed in Latin, Rhythm and Smooth with her instructor, Mark Becker. She will not be buying any lessons from Mark for a while -- she won enough scholarship money to pay for her lessons instead. Ann Carter made her mark with instructor, J.W. She placed in the top 3 in all of her heats with several Firsts out of a large field of competitors. Lisa, Terry and Phil were in the Dancesport Series Top 20! They each received a $100 scholarship towards a package at the Ohio Star Ball in November.
Rhonda Becker
competed with her men, Ray Sharp and Philip Carter. They placed in every
heat (usually First or Second). All of these wins added up and Rhonda
was the TOP FEMALE TEACHER in the whole competition!! Way to go Lisa, Terry, Ann, Ray, Phil & Rhonda!! |

Congratulations to our Champion Dancers! More news from the 2007 Volunteer State Dance Challenge!! Ellen Andrews racked up many firsts, seconds and thirds in highly contested events -- too many to list here. She competed in American Rhythm, American Smooth and International Latin and she really made us proud. J.W. Becker was also at this comp. If you did not see him around the hotel, it was because he was out on the dance floor most of the time. J.W. became a member of the Century Club which means that he and his students competed in more than one hundred heats! Way to go Ellen & J.W.!! |
